Attorney Christian Buettner
is an Austrian attorney at law admitted to the Austrian Bar (Vienna Bar Association) and, as a Foreign Lawyer ("Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi"), also to the Japanese Bar (Tokyo Bar Association). After graduating from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies (Japanese Studies) at the University of Vienna, he completed a research stay of 18 months at Keio University in Tokyo. From 2013 to 2018 he worked as an associate for DORDA Attorneys at Law in Vienna. In May 2018 he was admitted to the Austrian Bar and since June 2019 he is living in Tokyo, where he has been registered as a Foreign Lawyer since August 2022.

Attorney Dr. Henri Doering
is a German lawyer admitted to the Berlin Bar (currently not admitted in Japan). He graduated from Passau University (First Legal State Examination) and Goethe University Frankfurt (B.A. in Japanese Studies, Ph.D. in Law), and was an exchange student at Kyoto Sangyo University and Osaka University. After completing his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf, he served as Senior Policy Officer at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Bonn, and as Visiting Researcher at Sophia University Graduate School of Law in Tokyo. He has been practicing as attorney at law since 2020.

Partner Attorney Wataru Yonezu
is our Japanese partner attorney in the Foreign Law Joint Business with Yonezu Law Office. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Keio University, then earned his LL.M. from University of Pennsylvania and is admitted to the Daini Tokyo Bar Association. After working for Jones Day in Tokyo, he is independent since 2006 and coordinating continuously joint mandates for German and Swiss clients since 2007 with us. His major field of practice is international and Japanese business law with a focus on corporate law, international distribution law and labour law as well as litigation at Japanese courts.

Attorney Shotaro Torii
is a Japanese lawyer associated with Yonezu Law Office and part of our respective Foreign Law Joint Business. He graduated from Meiji University School of Law and Seikei University Graduate School of Law, and completed his training at the Japanese Supreme Court's Legal Training and Research Institute in December 2015. After being admitted to the Osaka Bar Association, he practiced law in Osaka, focusing on civil cases. He has been registered in Tokyo since February 2022 and is part of our team. Together with Attorney Yonezu, he engages in a wide range of cross-border legal services for our clients, including corporate legal affairs related to Japanese law and court proceedings in Japan. He has lived abroad in McLean, Virginia in the United States from his third year of elementary school to his first year of high school.
